Tear Trough Filler.

Do you have hollow under eyes or dark circles? Tear Trough could be the perfect treatment for you.

Some people are born with darker pigmented under eyes with a more sunken appearance. For others, this can develop with age due to the elasticity and thinning of skin becoming more noticeable as you get older. Usually, the fat from the cheeks lowers into the middle of the face, revealing more obvious depressions of the eye. Resultingly, a tired/aged appearance.

What is Tear Trough Filler?

The area from your inner eye tear duct, to the point just above the cheekbone, is referred to as your 'tear trough'. If this section of your eye is particularly dark or sunken this can allow for a shadow to hit below your eye - often known as dark circles.

Tear trough treatment uses a dermal filler that contains Hyaluronic acid (HA), which is already present in our bodies. This substance attracts water which means it gives an extremely hydrating effect to the applicated area. When applied to the tear trough this results in a hydrated, 'awake', and freshened appearance.

Tear Trough filler also has a plumping effect that fills the sunken areas of the undereye. In turn, this diminishes any shadows projected onto the undereye, which means no more dark circles! Yay.

What is the treatment like?

The Tear Trough procedure itself is straightforward. We use a cannula as opposed to a needle, this means we only have to use one insertion point ensuring the treatment is as comfortable as possible. Using a canular vs a need also minimises downtime, reducing bruising and prevents the chances of anything going wrong! The treatment itself is fast and non-invasive meaning that you can have both consultation and treatment on the same day. Dependant on your suitability.

We use premium filler products within the treatment, we believe you get what you pay for when it comes to specialist dermal filler treatments. For the tear trough, we use the best fillers for the appropriate area with the safest profiles.

All of our expert cosmetic doctors can perform Tear Trough dermal filler. Below are some dazzling Tear Trough results we have had within the clinic!

The results include firm and tighter skin with an improved surface texture.

Profhilo is also an amazing treatment to improve the appearance of lacklustre, photoaged skin. Due to these results, Profhilo's popularity has risen dramatically. Profhilo is now ranking as one of the best moisturising and antiaging treatments available.

What happens in a Profhilo Treatment?

At the Dr Leah Clinic, we will always ensure a bespoke consultation before your Profhilo appointment to confirm that you are suitable for the Profhilo treatment. It is also to ensure that this is the correct treatment for your concerns. Once this consultation has taken place with our expert cosmetic doctors, the Profhilo treatment can begin.

Profhilo is a series of micro-injections that are inserted under the skin, you may feel a slight stinging sensation when the injections go in, to avoid any concerns of pain we offer numbing cream and suggest taking two paracetamol before appointment providing no contraindications. Profhilo treatment is a relatively quick procedure with minimal downtime.

How many Profhilo sessions do I need?

Clients are often seeking to prolong youthfulness and maintain skin health, both Profhilo and fillers are great solutions. However, it is a common misconception that Profhilo is the same as a dermal filler. There are many similarities between them, Profhilo is a marvel anti-aging treatment which is one of the most popular treatments to help hydrate and illuminate your skin.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid when injected into the skin retains moisture through the body, resulting in increased collagen stimulation. Meaning that Profhilo works wonders for rejuvenating lackluster skin! Profhilo is injected through microinjection points across the face and or neck. This improves skin quality and increases elasticity production, increasing plumpness which may have been lost through natural aging.

Profhilo contains a high level of clinically concentrated hyaluronic acid, which is the highest on the current market. When injected the Hyaluronic acid thermally bonds, meaning it retains moisture instead of chemically bonding. Therefore, Profhilo acts as a hydrator instead of a filler, which has incredible anti-aging effects on our skin!

The importance of Hyaluronic acid when aiming to achieve the sought-after hydrated, plump, and glowing skin is unbeaten! One gram of Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 6 liters of water, Profhilo gives your skin the exact hydration hit for radiant skin! Profhilo overtime can stimulate collagen and elastin – these are the two key players for pump, bouncy skin.

Below are the perfect examples of how Profhilo can rejuvenate, brighten, and radiate your appearance.

What is a filler?

In a nutshell, dermal filler is also a hyaluronic acid (HA), resembling a gel-like consistency. When injected into areas of the face filler can modify features such as the chin, lips, and nose. Filler is also used to contour areas of the face. Dermal fillers can also be used to minimize wrinkles. Not all dermal fillers are made of Hyaluronic acid. However, due to its hydrating properties and water retention, it is the more favored choice.

Main Differences Profhilo Vs Filler

 Consistency

Profhilo is runnier in texture and is a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid. Filler is a thicker more viscous hyaluronic acid

Use

Profhilo spreads evenly under the skin and immediately refreshes and plumps the skin from within, this stimulates elastin and collagen production. Profhilo can be administered in the face, neck, décolleté, hands, and knees.

Filler stays where it is placed and its use is for volumizing, shaping, lifting, and filling a specific area. Filler can be placed in the lips, nose, cheeks, jaw, chin, temples, tear troughs, and deep-set lines.

Treatment Occurrence

Profhilo is a course of two treatments with each appointment one month apart, which can then be topped up if desired after completing the initial two treatments.

Filler is dependent on desired result and area treated; this would need to be advised within a doctor consultation. However, recommended treatment is one every 16-18 months.

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE DOCTOR LEAH GLOW-UP?

The treatment is regarded as a beauty breakthrough for its 'skin glossing' and glowy results often referred to as the Korean glass skin trend.

Vogue, Tatler, and Harpers Bazaar discuss how Korean beauty trends lead the field in skincare and the 'skin glass trend' is no exception. Korean beauty is internationally famed for focusing on a hyper dewy complexion, achieved through layering hydrating skin products and treatments. The Korean glass skin trend aims to achieve a glass-like glow to the skin surface without relying on makeup and highlighter.

Dr Leah, Glow-up Treatment is geared around recreating this look through a series of skin boosters resulting in super hydrated, gloriously glossy skin. Through a unique combination of hyaluronic acid injectables Profhilo and Volite. The skin's quality is dramatically improved, hydration levels increased with a subtle lifting and tightening of the skin and long-term results.

WHY DO THESE TREATMENTS COMPLEMENT EACH OTHER SO WELL?

Profhilo and Volite are the skin boosters used in this treatment. They improve the skin's condition in different ways, making them an excellent combination treatment for the ultimate glow-up.

Profhilo works to tighten and lift the skin, addressing skin laxity where there is mild sagging and crepeiness. Profhilo also helps give a subtle plumping of the skin. This award-winning injectable, Profhilo, rejuvenates the neck, mid-face, and lower face area. It improves hydration levels in the skin as well as overall skin quality. However, Profhilo, cannot be administered around the eyes and the forehead.

Volite can be injected across the additional areas that Profhilo cannot reach, helping smooth the forehead and a crepey eye area. In addition, Volite works exceptionally well to hydrate dry skin for a glossy, dewy complexion.

When combined, these powerful hydrators, Profhilo and Volite will provide you with the ultimate glow.

Thread lifts are a trending topic.

At Dr. Leah Clinic, we have featured in The Guardian and Saturday Times Newspaper in the last month alone for our industry-leading, award-winning thread lift procedure – The Silhouette Soft Lift.

Dr. Leah has performed the most procedures of its kind in the UK and is widely acknowledged as ‘the very best’ for Silhouette Soft Thread lifts. But why are more people than ever choosing to have a thread lift over a surgical face lift?

Indeed Dr. Leah Clinic has seen a surge in clients requesting the treatment in the last two years, with patients flying from across Europe to undergo the facial lifting procedure. The number of searches for thread lifts online is increasing month on month, with beauty bibles such as Tatler recently deeming facial thread lifts as a “life-line’ for facial sagging.

To understand why thread lifts are swiftly becoming the most popular treatment for facial rejuvenation, we must delve into the history of its surgical counterpart - the traditional face lift.

The History of Facial Lifting.

A historical surgical procedure

Traditional face lift surgery had existed for over 100 years when in 1916, surgeon Erich Lexer first performed the procedure. His method involved lifting the skin above the facial muscles, pulling it back over the ear, and cutting off any excess skin. For nearly 60 years, the Dr.Lexer technique of face lifting remained the fashion; however, this procedure often resulted in the typical over-tight, overstretched look. This ‘windswept’ outcome resulted from the facial skin being too tightly pulled across the earlobe and underlying tissue not being addressed, which is the root cause of facial sagging.

It was not until the 1970s when Dr. Paul Tessier tweaked the Dr. Lexer method to address the superficial muscular aponeurotic system where this procedure really came into its own. The Dr Tessier method focused on repositioning sagging, soft tissue under the skin to a higher, more youthful position prior to removing excess skin. The result: a significant lifting of the jowls, sagging cheeks, and nasolabial folds. The Dr. Tessier technique is still widely used today and is otherwise known as the SMAS facelift.

And so, the SMAS facelift begins the practice of facial lifting and sculpting via the deeper layers of facial tissue and muscle. This evolution brings about the transition into the non-surgical facelift with the non-invasive thread lift.

An Evolution to less Invasive Facial Lifting…

Let’s now discuss thread lifting and how it compares to this surgical approach to facial rejuvenation.

A thread lift technique uses the innovative aspect of the SMAS lift, which goes beneath the surface of the skin to lift the underlying tissue and address facial sagging. There are, however, key differences between the two procedures which are making the thread lift a popular choice for those worried about going under the knife.

Firstly a thread lift is not as invasive as a SMAS lift and does not involve any cutting of the skin, which results in less downtime and potential complications associated with a traditional surgical facelift. The thread lift process involves a fine needle being inserted into the face; to (like the SMAS facelift) address the deeper layers of facial matter below the surface of the skin. This enables a more effective and long-lasting lift to the face without any cutting of the skin, which can result in unsightly scarring. The thread lift needle delivers a thread with tiny cones attached to it, which painlessly hook into a subcutaneous layer of fat in the face. The threads are then pulled tightly upwards to lift the layer of fat in the face, resulting in a subtle lift. Like the SMAS facelift, this treatment raises and sculpts the jowl area, noticeably reducing the look of nasolabial folds and marionette lines. Another key benefit to a thread lift is the production of new collagen caused by the cones, which helps to plump and rejuvenate the face.

The Silhouette Soft Lift technique…

At Dr. Leah Clinic, we are proud to lead the field in the most effective of thread lifting procedures. We use the most premium brand of threads - Silhouette Soft Threads, which are made out of Poly-L-Lactic Acid material and have greater longevity in comparison to PDO threads (another popular type of thread lift)

A Silhouette Soft Lift at Dr. Leah Clinic lasts around 18 months vs. the typical six-month lifespan of PDO threads. Silhouette Soft threads are also superior in terms of immediate lifting effects and collagen production.

Why are thread-lifts increasing in popularity?

(Above) Fox eye thread lift at Dr Leah Clinic

Recent years have seen a rise in celebrities having some thread lift help. The Eye thread lift, in particular has heightened in demand over the last year with the suggestion that high profile models such as Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid have had the treatment to achieve a lateral brow lift effect (commonly known as the Fox eye lift)

This move-in popular culture to embrace non-surgical face lifting methods has undoubtedly affected the popularity of the thread lift treatment. The trend for facial lifting has also been popularised through viral Tik Tok and social media videos striving to achieve a lifted look to the eye and lower face through the clever use of makeup and face lifting tape. While these methods are undoubtedly creative, a Silhouette Soft Lift offers a longer-term solution and unlike a traditional surgical facelift does not involve months of recovery and 15k plus price tag.

Thread lifting at Dr. Leah Clinic can be conducted in less than an hour, with quick results and minimal downtime.

Prices start from £2200
