Profhilo Before and After Pictures

What Is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an innovative skin remodeling treatment. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, Profhilo is designed to hydrate the skin deeply, stimulating collagen and elastin production, and resulting in tighter, firmer and glowing skin. It’s not about adding volume to the skin, but about rejuvenating and revitalising it. This treatment is a breakthrough in anti-aging medicine.

Lets delve deeper into the science behind Profhilo. Profhilo revolves around its unique formulation and mode of action. Profhilo is an injectable treatment that contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, a natural component of the skin that provides hydration and supports tissue repair. When injected, Profhilo spreads within the skin, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which are essential proteins for skin structure and elasticity. This process, known as the BAP method, helps improve skin condition, tightens sagging skin, and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Unlike fillers, Profhilo focuses on overall skin improvement rather than filling specific lines and wrinkles. By enhancing hydration levels and promoting collagen and elastin production, Profhilo rejuvenates the skin for a firmer, plumper, and more radiant complexion

Profhilo can be injected in various areas of the body. Profhilo injection points across the body include the face, neck, hands, chest, decolletage, and upper arms. The Profhilo injection points specifically for the face include the upper cheek, nasal base, lower cheek, chin, and jawline.   Profhilo cannot be injected into the forehead area due to the location of blood vessels and nerves, so your Dr Leah doctor may suggest an alternative smoothing a rejuvenating treatment in this area such as Volite or Anti-wrinkle injections.

Why Profhilo Is Perfect to Start Now

As late summer approaches and we begin to transition into autumn, our skin can often start to feel the effects of the changing weather. Profhilo is an excellent treatment to consider at this time for several reasons:

  1. Pre-Autumn Refresh: As the weather starts to cool, your skin may start to dry out. Starting Profhilo treatment now can ensure your skin is deeply hydrated and revitalised, ready to face the brisk autumn months ahead.
  2. Festive Season Prep: With the festive season around the corner, we all want to look our best. Starting your Profhilo treatment in late summer allows enough time for the treatment to show its full effects — just in time for the holiday celebrations and New Year festivities.
  3. Minimal Downtime: Profhilo has the benefit of requiring minimal to no downtime. Starting now means you can enjoy the full benefits by the time the holiday season rolls around, without having to hide away during recovery.

At a certain time of year especially around the colder months, you may notice that your skin is paying the price. This could be your face, neck, hands, decolletage or even underarms, if the skin is appearing crepy, dull and beginning to show signs of ageing including fine lines and wrinkles, then a Profhilo treatment may be the perfect solution!

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is the ultimate hydration and rejuvenation treatment. It is a skin remodelling treatment that contains one of the highest concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid (HA) available on the market! Hyaluronic Acid is a water-attracting substance, that provides much-needed hydration to the skin's upper surface. Water is not created by Hyaluronic acid, instead, it attracts water from deep within and releases it into the skin for the ultimate skin hydration!

What happens in a Profhilo Treatment?

Consultation

Firstly prior to any Profhilo treatment, you will visit one of our expert cosmetic doctors for a bespoke consultation. This is a chance to discuss your concerns and desires, as well as an opportunity for the doctor to assess any potential medical contradictions as well as to determine if Profhilo is the most suitable treatment for you!

Skin Prep - Cleanse and Mark

It is important to cleanse and prep the skin prior to any Profhilo treatment as this is an injectable treatment, cleansing the skin is a must! This removes any make-up or impurities that may be on the skin, ensuring these do not cause any infection to the injection site.

Now it is time to mark the skin! When Profhilo is injected into the face it is placed into 5 points that need to be mapped out prior to the Profhilo treatment. This is done using a cosmetic pencil and each point is chosen by your doctor in relation to achieving the maximum results.

Profhilo Injections

The doctor will then begin to inject the Profhilo into the mapped out site. The Profhilo injections are a quick and easy process, clients may feel a slight prick when the needle is inserted, and often you can feel a slight stinging as the Profhilo disperses under the skin. The doctor will then massage the Profhilo injection site to ensure that the product has been distributed under the skin evenly. This whole Profhilo treatment can take around 30 minutes* including cleansing and aftercare.

Once all the injections have been administered, the doctor will then re cleanse the skin and apply a medical grade SPF to ensure no UV damage is endured on the injection site.

How long does Profhilo take to work?

We recommend having two Profhilo treatments, four weeks apart. You may notice some skin hydration and slight plumping around two weeks after your first Profhilo treatment. However, the maximum results are visible a couple of weeks after your second session. This is because the Hyaluronic Acid has had a chance to attract hydration and in turn, rejuvenate and plump the skin. We advise a top-up after six months after your second Profhilo treatment to ensure that your results are maintained.

Is Profhilo Safe?

Profhilo was founded in Italy in 2015, and it has been in use worldwide ever since. Over 300,000 patients have been treated so far, with no severe reactions reported. There can be mild side effects such as redness, slight pain and even swelling but these are temporary. From a safety point of view, it is made from ultra-pure, natural hyaluronic acid and stabilised without chemical cross-linking agents; this reduces the risk of adverse reactions, so the downtime is minimal.

Clients are often seeking to prolong youthfulness and maintain skin health, both Profhilo and fillers are great solutions. However, it is a common misconception that Profhilo is the same as a dermal filler. There are many similarities between them, Profhilo is a marvel anti-aging treatment which is one of the most popular treatments to help hydrate and illuminate your skin.

What is Profhilo?

Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid when injected into the skin retains moisture through the body, resulting in increased collagen stimulation. Meaning that Profhilo works wonders for rejuvenating lackluster skin! Profhilo is injected through microinjection points across the face and or neck. This improves skin quality and increases elasticity production, increasing plumpness which may have been lost through natural aging.

Profhilo contains a high level of clinically concentrated hyaluronic acid, which is the highest on the current market. When injected the Hyaluronic acid thermally bonds, meaning it retains moisture instead of chemically bonding. Therefore, Profhilo acts as a hydrator instead of a filler, which has incredible anti-aging effects on our skin!

The importance of Hyaluronic acid when aiming to achieve the sought-after hydrated, plump, and glowing skin is unbeaten! One gram of Hyaluronic acid can hold up to 6 liters of water, Profhilo gives your skin the exact hydration hit for radiant skin! Profhilo overtime can stimulate collagen and elastin – these are the two key players for pump, bouncy skin.

Below are the perfect examples of how Profhilo can rejuvenate, brighten, and radiate your appearance.

What is a filler?

In a nutshell, dermal filler is also a hyaluronic acid (HA), resembling a gel-like consistency. When injected into areas of the face filler can modify features such as the chin, lips, and nose. Filler is also used to contour areas of the face. Dermal fillers can also be used to minimize wrinkles. Not all dermal fillers are made of Hyaluronic acid. However, due to its hydrating properties and water retention, it is the more favored choice.

Main Differences Profhilo Vs Filler

 Consistency

Profhilo is runnier in texture and is a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid. Filler is a thicker more viscous hyaluronic acid

Use

Profhilo spreads evenly under the skin and immediately refreshes and plumps the skin from within, this stimulates elastin and collagen production. Profhilo can be administered in the face, neck, décolleté, hands, and knees.

Filler stays where it is placed and its use is for volumizing, shaping, lifting, and filling a specific area. Filler can be placed in the lips, nose, cheeks, jaw, chin, temples, tear troughs, and deep-set lines.

Treatment Occurrence

Profhilo is a course of two treatments with each appointment one month apart, which can then be topped up if desired after completing the initial two treatments.

Filler is dependent on desired result and area treated; this would need to be advised within a doctor consultation. However, recommended treatment is one every 16-18 months.

THE NEW COMBO TREATMENT- for hydrated glowing skin.

The Dr Leah Glow Up Treatment is a combination treatment that involves the most effective and highly regarded skin booster and injectables available on the beauty and aesthetics scene, Profhilo and Volite!

WHAT EXACTLY IS THE DOCTOR LEAH GLOW-UP?

The Dr Leah Glow up is a combination of our two moisturising and hydrating treatments...When these treatments are matched together the results are unbeaten. These moisture marvel treatments will leave you with lifted, hydrated, and luminous skin.

The treatment is regarded as a beauty breakthrough for its 'skin glossing' and glowy results often referred to as the Korean glass skin trend.

Vogue, Tatler, and Harpers Bazaar discuss how Korean beauty trends lead the field in skincare and the 'skin glass trend' is no exception. Korean beauty is internationally famed for focusing on a hyper dewy complexion, achieved through layering hydrating skin products and treatments. The Korean glass skin trend aims to achieve a glass-like glow to the skin surface without relying on makeup and highlighter.

Dr Leah, Glow-up Treatment is geared around recreating this look through a series of skin boosters resulting in super hydrated, gloriously glossy skin. Through a unique combination of hyaluronic acid injectables Profhilo and Volite. The skin's quality is dramatically improved, hydration levels increased with a subtle lifting and tightening of the skin and long-term results.

WHY DO THESE TREATMENTS COMPLEMENT EACH OTHER SO WELL?

Profhilo and Volite are the skin boosters used in this treatment. They improve the skin's condition in different ways, making them an excellent combination treatment for the ultimate glow-up.

Profhilo works to tighten and lift the skin, addressing skin laxity where there is mild sagging and crepeiness. Profhilo also helps give a subtle plumping of the skin. This award-winning injectable, Profhilo, rejuvenates the neck, mid-face, and lower face area. It improves hydration levels in the skin as well as overall skin quality. However, Profhilo, cannot be administered around the eyes and the forehead.

Volite can be injected across the additional areas that Profhilo cannot reach, helping smooth the forehead and a crepey eye area. In addition, Volite works exceptionally well to hydrate dry skin for a glossy, dewy complexion.

When combined, these powerful hydrators, Profhilo and Volite will provide you with the ultimate glow.
