What is cellulite?

Cellulite is the lumpy appearance of skin commonly found on the thighs, and buttocks. This benign condition mostly occurs in women due to differences in fat distribution. The underlying fat pushes between the connective tissue beneath the skin, this tethered connective tissue makes the surface look bumpy. It is a purely cosmetic issue and does not indicate any underlying medical illness. Around 80-90% of post-adolescent women have some degree of cellulite present.

Risk factors for cellulite

  • Ageing - Cellulite is also more common with aging, when the skin loses elasticity.
  • Weight gain – with extra fat cellulite can be more noticeable, but some lean people have cellulite, as well. Repeated weight loss and gain can increase the appearance of cellulite.
  • Genetic – Cellulite tends to run in families, so genetics might play the biggest role in whether you develop cellulite.
  • An inactive lifestyle- also can increase your chances of having cellulite.
  • Pregnancy

Cellulite can occur due to many reasons and most of them involve physiological changes. The main reason for such an appearance is the loosening of underlying connective tissue. The degree to which cellulite is visible depends on many factors but the most common include:

1. Hormonal Factors - Female hormones like oestrogen play the most dominant role in the development of cellulite. That is why this condition most commonly affects women. Men who lack androgens also develop this condition.

2. Sedentary lifestyle - Women who exercise more are less likely to have visible cellulite as compared to those who have low physical activity.

3. Ageing -The skin loses elasticity with increasing age and loses its tone and elasticity.

Cellulite can make the skin appear similar to an “orange peel”. The nodular appearance mostly occurs in the hips but can also appear in the breast, upper arms, and flanks.

Cellulite can now be treated using modern techniques such as the 3D Ultimate Pro available at Dr Leah clinics. The 3D Ultimate Pro has recently won best cellulite treatment as voted by OK! Magazine and uses radiofrequency to stimulate fat breakdown in targeted areas. This causes focal reduction of fat leaving significantly tighter and smoother skin after the treatment.

Cellulite Treatment

Unfortunately cellulite is a difficult thing to treat and there is no one quick fix for cellulite which is why at Dr Leah Clinics our cellulite reduction treatment combines three separate treatments. Our cellulite machine, the 3d Ultimate Pro, is a state of the art device allows us to offer the most up-to-date and advanced cellulite reduction treatment on the global aesthetic market.

The treatment is non invasive and takes just over 1 hour. During which time 3 different treatment modalities provided by the machine are used to combat cellulite:

Radio frequency heat treatment - The uneven distribution of fat cells causes cellulite, this treatment uses radiofrequency to stimulate fat breakdown in targeted areas. This causes focal reduction of fat leaving smoother skin

Vacuum roller treatment - vacuum roller sucks up and irons out the skin to give a smoother, less dimpled appearance, by sucking up your skin and rollering it down it smooth over pockets of loose or dimpled skin making your skin more smooth and firm. It also stimulates the excretion of the fat cells broken down from radio frequency from the body.

Shockwave treatment - this stimulates blood circulation to the area and speeds up lymph drainage to stimulate the excretion of toxins

The combination of these three treatments, all part of the 3D Ultimate Pro platform provide transformative results.

Minimum of 6 treatments are required each 5-7 days apart. Treatment is completely non-invasive, so you should be able to resume your daily routine immediately after this award winning cellulite machine treatment.

Commonly Asked Questions

Does Treatment With 3d Ultimate Pro Cause Any Pain?

The procedure is completely non-invasive and is pain-free.

How Does The Cellulite Treatment Work?

Althought the exact cause of cellulite is unknown it is thought to be caused by toxin build up causing fat cells to gather and tether under the skin in areas where there are a high number of fat cells present – on women this tends to be the thighs and bum area. Through a combination of Radio frequency, vacuums and skin rollers and shockwve treatment the fat cells responsible for the appearance of cellulite are eradicated and the tethered skin attached to these cells is smoothed out, with circulation and lymph drainage to the area improved. This drastically reduces the visibility of cellulite.
