What is Hyalase?

Hyaluronidase is an enzyme that can be injected to dissolve dermal filler and is the best treatment option for those looking at dissolving lip filler and reducing any lumps or puffiness associated with dermal filler in the face or body.

Hyaluronidase is a medicine that should only be administered by a doctor skilled in its use, only in a clinical environment, and only after a consultation and a test patch as there is a risk of serious allergic reaction.

What does dermal filler dissolving treatment involve?

  • You will have a “Hyaluronidase consultation” with one of our clinic doctors. A non-refundable consultation fee of £200 applies irrespective of if you progress with the test patch or treatment.
  • The consultation will determine if Hyaluronidase treatment is suitable for you. If you wish to proceed with the treatment, a test patch will be scheduled. This can be on the same day or the following day, whichever suits.
  • Numbing cream will be applied to the target area. Prior to injection, the Hyaluronidase dose is diluted with saline using the appropriate titration.

Hyaluronidase dissolves some hyaluronic acid dermal filler immediately and continues to work for up to 7 days.

Dissolving Lip Filler/ Filler Removal Hyaluronidase Reviews

Here’s what our clients have to say…
I had a very bad experience with cosmetic filler which I purchased via a ‘Wowcher’ deal and had administered by another practitioner (who was not a Dr). I wasn’t told about any contraindications with filler. The problems started over a year after I’d had the last injection; lumps started appearing on my face in places where I hadn’t had filler. I went to my GP. Scans revealed the lumps were filler material and I was offered surgery to remove them. I went back to the original practitioner who said she didn’t know what they were. I then made an appointment with Dr Leah. She was interested in helping me straight away. She explained that the lumps were Granulomas and that I had most likely had a reaction to the filler. She put me on a regime which has completely removed the lumps and restored my confidence. She also personally phoned me during this time to ask how I was doing. I couldn’t believe the difference in her positive response, her knowledge and understanding compared to the person I’d originally seen. The cosmetic procedure industry needs close monitoring and should only be administered by people who are medically trained to be able to not only administer the products but also to recognise and rectify and treat when things go wrong.

FAQs

Can I have dermal filler again after Hyaluronidase?

Yes, but you should wait 14 days after your treatment as the hyaluronidase can break down the new dermal filler. If you wish to do this, we can offer you the dermal re-fill treatment at a discounted price. This is something the majority of clients choose to do.

How soon can I dissolve my dermal filler?

If you have had dermal filler it is recommended not to dissolve it for cosmetic reasons for 14 days after the initial treatment, as you are unlikely you will have seen the final result due to swelling.

Where vascular compromise arises after dermal filler treatment, Hyaluronidase can be administered immediately, and should not be delayed.

Can Hyaluronidase dissolve all types of dermal filler?

Hyaluronidase can dissolve hyaluronic acid dermal fillers e.g. Juvéderm, Restylane, Perfecta, Princess, Teosyl.

However it cannot dissolve non-hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers or other filling agents e.g. Radiasse, Sculptra, Ellanse.

Can Juvéderm filler be dissolved?

Yes, Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler that can be dissolved using the appropriate enzyme, such as Hyaluronidase.

What are the side effects of Hyaluronidase?

The most significant side-effect of hyaluronidase is an allergic reaction, which can vary in severity.
Other side effects include:

• Discomfort at time of injection
• Swelling
• Bruising
• Infection
• Triggering cold sores if used to dissolve filler around the mouth area
• Dissolving naturally occurring hyaluronic acid
• Uneven appearance following treatment
• Multiple treatments may be required depending on the amount, type and location of dermal filler to be dissolved.

What is Hyaluronidase not suitable for?

Hyaluronidase is not suitable if you have a history of serious allergy e.g. anaphylaxis response to an allergen or you are allergic to bee or insect stings.

For your peace of mind, we will ask to test your response to Hyaluronidase on a small area. This will immediately reveal if you have a reaction that would make Hyaluronidase unsuitable for you.
